DJ Anderson


Daryl Wayne Anderson Jr. “DJ”, 36, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 in Austin, TX.  DJ was born July 13, 1983 in Ft. Smith, AR to Daryl & Rhonda (Atkins) Anderson.  He worked  for Modern Rail Systems as construction superintendent.  DJ was always the life of the party; always happy.  He loved the lake, camping, riding, boating.  He was the best cook of the family.  He pushed everyone to be better and always took pride in everything he did.  DJ always went above and beyond  in random acts of kindness.  DJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hoyt Atkins, Carol Atkins, Ervin Anderson.



He is survived by his wife, Lindsey; daughters, Paeton & Allie; his parents, Daryl & Becky Anderson, Rhonda & Ron Anderson; sisters, April & Dwain Caughern, Thressa & Jeff Loyd; nieces, Kylie Turner, Preslie House; nephews, Roper Nichols, Nolan Nichols, Easton Grant, Noah Loyd; grandmothers, Georgia Burns, Dee & Jack Rogers; other relatives and many friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Donald Reynolds Community Center, Poteau, OK with Jason Waymire & Keith Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Dustin Reece, Joseph Bunch, Brandon Reece, Josh Atkins, JD Armstrong and Ricky Don Seals.



The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.  Donations may be made to Recovery Ranch, 23850 Kerr Mansion Rd., Poteau, OK 74953

We are so very sorry for your loss, and know that DJ will be missed by so many. I cant remember a time that I have seen him not to be smiling. He certainly brightened a room. Your families are in our heart felt thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
