Jim Walter Akins, 73,
of Wister, OK passed away Monday, April
30, 2018, in Ft. Smith, AR. Jim was born
July 29, 1944, in Ft. Smith to Jesse U.
& Odena L. (Nix) Akins. He was
preceded in death by his father, mother Odena Shipman and brother, Johnny H.
Akins.
Survivors include his son, James Akins of OK; daughter, Timber & husband Shane
Dawson of Tulsa, OK; brothers, Jess & wife Vicky Akins of Wister, OK, Danny
Shipman of Enterprise, OK, Jerry Akins; mother of James & Timber, Terry
Akins; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10
am, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook
officiating. Interment will be in Ellis
Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK. Pallbearers
will be James, Jess, Lee, Chase, Blake & Brody Akins, Danny Shipman.
