Billy "Joe" Henderson



Billy "Joe" Henderson, 89, of  Bokoshe, OK passed away Friday, March 2, 2018, in Ft. Smith, AR.  Joe was born June 16, 1928, in Bokoshe, OK to D.A. & Mary (Anderson) Henderson.    He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was a member of his base's basketball team.  Joe was  a coal miner and a member of United Mine Workers of America, Laborer's Unions of Northern & Southern California and Alaska.  Joe was a 32nd Degree Mason.  He was retired from the State of Oklahoma working as a state mine inspector for the Dept. of Mines.  Joe kept coon dogs and hunted until recently.  Joe attended the Methodist Church in Bokoshe.    He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Sue Currens; wives, Dorothy Henderson & Barbara Norris Henderson; stepdaughter, Bobbie Loomis.

Survivors include his daughter & son in law, Charlotte Sue & Jack Davis of Mt. Ida, AR; son & daughter in law, Steve & Trena Henderson of Broken Arrow, OK; brothers, & sisters in law, Dudley & June Henderson of Ft. Smith, AR, Bob & Margaret Henderson of Carlsbad, NM, Don Henderson  of Broken Arrow, OK, John Paul Henderson of Alameda, CA, Charles & Jean Henderson of Bokoshe, OK; brother in law, Bill Currens of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Lori Bruns of Coal City, IL, Todd Tindol of Carlsbad, NM, Eric Tindol of Bay Minette, AL, Jennifer Henderson and Lisa Igo of Broken Arrow, OK;    13  great grandchildren; former wife, Pam Henderson; stepdaughters, Billie Parks & Tammy Armstrong; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Memorial services will be 2 pm, Monday, March 5, 2018, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Cindy Arnwine officiating.   
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bokoshe American Legion or Bokoshe Methodist Church.
