Lucy Byrd Buttress, 81, of Shady Point, OK entered the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Shady Point. Lucy was born August 19, 1936 in Quincy, FL
to Geroge M. & Linnie Pearl (Burke) Byrd.
Lucy gave her heart to the Lord at age 12. She was faithful to the Lord
and loved telling people about Jesus and how she had been blessed. She loved her family; "her greatest
blessings called her Granny". She
attended Shady Point First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Buttress, partner
Jim Davis; brothers, Alvin, Herbert, Raymond, Floyd & George Byrd; sister,
Hazel Napier.
Survivors include her
daughter, Rochelle & Robert Wright of Shady Point, OK; son, Bobby &
Lois Buttress of Tahlequah, OK; grandchildren, Amanda Buttress, Chelsea Taylor
and husband Drew, and Kyler Wright; great grandchildren, Colby, Connor and Gracie
Minson; sister, Betty Neel of Sneads, FL; in-laws Verlie Jo Byrd of Sopchoppy,
FL, Delores & Nick Spanos of Lodi, CA, Carolyn Byrd of Oakland, OR, David
& Betty Buttress of Owasso, OK; family by love, Mark and Shari Burton; other
relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be Monday,
September 11, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Shady Point, OK with
Rev. Larry Matthiesen and Rev. Tracy (T.J.) DeWitt officiating. Interment will
be in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.
