Mary Lynn Laymon



Mary Lynn Laymon, 50, of Shady Point, OK passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Mary was born March 11, 1966 in Poteau, OK to Jim & Janice (Monks) Scroggins.  Mary graduated from Panama High School & worked at Whirlpool for 26 years. She was a great wife & mother.  She loved spending time with grandsons, watching them play sports;  junking at antique stores, collecting amber glass; shopping for new rings.  She was loved by family & numerous friends.  Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Omer & Victoria Lawson, Ida & Roy Scroggins; niece, Summer Rose VanMeter; uncle, Jerry Monks;  aunts,  Loretha Grigsby & Glenda Tubby.

Survivors include her husband Leon of the home; daughter & son in law, Landon & Mishelle Frye of Poteau, OK, son,  Dearl Laymon of Shady Point, OK; grandsons, Brock, Dax, Finn & Wick Frye; brother & sister in law, Roy & Shelly Scroggins; sisters, Linda & Cathy Scroggins; mother in law, Virginia Sherfield; brothers in law, Allen Laymon, Wayne Laymon, Andy & Susan Sherfield; sisters in law, Renee & Jim Rogers, Julia & Keith Savage, Gina Lorenson ; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Victory Worship Center, Spiro, OK with Rev. Bryan Fouts officiating.   Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK.  Pallbearers will be Tyler Arnold, Jarrett Smith, Farral Hall, Rosco Hill, Collin Womack, Brandon Holley.

The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Amazing woman with an amazing husband. He never left her side. She had so many wonderful friends and family. Our hearts go out to you all.

Very sorry for the lost of a beautiful lady. She had a wonderful life with her wonderful husband Leon and son and daughter. Know she will be greatly missed, but she will be with you always. Our prayers are with you and her family. Gary and Mary Gramling
