William Elijah Lyon, affectionately dubbed Liam,
was born February 18, 2011 at 3:25am to Whitney and Brody Lyon in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was a perfect size weighing 6 lbs and
measuring 19 inches long. Liam was
quickly diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and in the short time
that Liam was here, he changed the world we live in. His story of love and courage crossed borders
and continents as he traveled to various hospitals across the country in an
effort to save his life. He has touched
the lives of tens of thousands on his Facebook page, I Love Liam Lyon. On September 3, 2012, despite his courageous
fight, the efforts of countless medical personnel and the prayers of thousands,
Liam earned his wings while in the loving arms of his mommy and daddy.

You sure are missed Liam! I've followed ur journey nearly from the start and I just knew u were almost there to the top. I was in such dismay when I saw the prayer request followed by the post letting the world know you had gained your wings! You have such an amazing family that shared practically everyday of your life with the 80,000 + fb warriors. Thank you Lyon Family!! There are no words to describe what you all mean to me, and how much my heart aches for you guys. Liam was such an inspiration to many! He had a smile that lit up the world! Now, his star is going to take the place of his smile and continue lighting up the world every single night for eternity!! It such a mixed emotion tradgedy. Sad that we will never see Liams smile everyday except through pictures, never hear the countless miracles this baby has received, yet knowing he is no longer suffering. He is 100% whole! And, he is getting to meet the Angel donor who made this journey possible, and thank him/her for giving him this time with his family! Little Liam was loved by so many. I started following Liam on Facebook at the beginning of the year and he stole my heart. Thanks to his family for starting Facebook and updating often. I checked Facebook daily looking for his updates. He was precious. I would talk to family and friends about silly things he would do that was posted on Facebook. Even though I never met him in person I loved him like family. When I heard of his passing I cried like a baby. I know he's in a better place now, singing and laughing with all his friends that have also passed this year. My porch light still stays on for this little guy and I will always be praying for his family.

Never before have I fallen in love with someone I've never met in person. Then came Liam. The first thing I did every day was log onto FB to see how he was doing. I smiled at the pictures of him smiling, I cried when he didn't feel well. I prayed harder for Liam than I've ever prayed for anyone other than family. Oh how I loved this little cubby. When I read that he was nearing the end of his life here on Earth, I cancelled plans and sat by my computer - praying and waiting for news of another miracle. I cried for hours when Liam left us to be with Jesus. Liam fought harder than anyone I've ever known and against the odds he stayed here longer than expected. He smiled through all the pain. I enjoyed watching the video of him kicking the little piano and hearing his little voice for just a moment. I am forever changed because of Liam. I loved him as I love my own grandchildren. I feel like I know his family from their FB posts, and my heart aches for you Lyon Family. I still pray for you and my porch light will be on every night until I feel it's not necessary any more. I know all to well the pain and heart ache of losing a child/grandchild. I lost my only grandchild Ariauna to SIDS on Christmas Eve. 2002, 6 months later my daughter Bobbi Jo (Ariauna's Mommy) was killed in a car accident. and knowing Bobbi as I do I am sure she is snuggling with Liam. There are no words that can take your pain away right now....just know Baby Liam felt the love around him. When a baby that sick can smile, he knows he is loved. You all and the hospital workers have fought a linformation battle with Liam I had my hopes up when he made it through all the test, but God took you all there for a reason... My family prayed, wore our red bracelets and had and still have our porch light shining brightly for him. He has truly touched my heart in a very special way. I havent been following this family for long on FB.. but it was such an encouragement to see how they handled this trial they faced with little Liam.. it is a bitter sweet time, knowing he is not suffering any longer but he will sure be missed..my prayers go out to his parents and his big sister.
