Charley James Sexton, 86, of Poteau OK passed away Friday, August 7, 2009. Charley was born in Ozark, AR on April 16, 1923 to Lonnie & Eunice (Thompson) Sexton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Cecil Sexton amd grandson, Jeremy Sexton. Charley was a veteran of the US Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Sexton of the home; 3 sons, Jimmy Sexton of Poteau, OK, Larry Sexton of Fort Worth, TX, Charles R. Sexton of Weatherford, TX; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Pauline Walters of Shady Point, OK, & Wanda Marshall of Howe, OK; brother, Walter Gipson of Howe, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services 2 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Poteau Valley Baptist Church, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Parsley officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers: Doyle Akers, Keith Sexton, Michael Clark & Clendon Bollinger.
