James Russell Howell, 49, of Tulsa, OK (formerly of Poteau) passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Russell was born October 22, 1972 in Beeville, TX to Gary & Alvietta (McKnight) Howell. He was owner of South Tulsa General Contractor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irene & Gordon McKnight, Pat & OJ McClintock, Leon & Fern Howell; and uncle Wendell McKnight.
Survivors include his parents, Gary & Alvietta; brothers, David, Brian and wife Amanda; nephews, Samuel, Ethan & Zach; niece, Taylor; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Memorial services will be 2 pm, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Evans Chapel, Poteau.

I am absolutely sick to hear this. I've known Russ almost 20 years and we jokingly referred to each other as brother and sister. He was a dear friend.
