Gary Hugh Hampton, 69, of Poteau, OK passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. Gary was born September 27, 1942 in Monroe, OK to Hubert & Mary Hampton (Ritchie) who preceded him in death. Gary was a graduate of Monroe High School; he was a member of the
Member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a fantastic sales person and could see ice water to an Eskimo. He always tried to make people smile. He owned and operated Hampton’s BBQ in Poteau.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina Whiteford and husband Jim Whiteford and two granddaughters, Emily Ann Whiteford and Nicole Elizabeth Whiteford all from Houston, Texas; one brother, Durwin Lee & Betty Hampton of Poteau; one nephew. Gary was at one time married to Bettie Sue Hampton formerly of Monroe, OK, now of Houston, TX
Memorial services will be 10 am, Monday, February 13, 2012 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rick Snyder officiating.
