Eual J. Ford



    Eual was born August 17, 1933 in Poteau, OK  to Roy Lee & Anna Laura (Green) Ford.  He was a bulldozer operator & loved construction.  He loved his wife, kids, grandkids, his cows, & his horses, not necessarily in that order.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rickey Alan Ford; daughter, Lori Leona (Ford) Bullard; grandsons, Spencer  Keith & Patrick Shane Lynch; great grandson, Parker Leon Dolph; brothers & sisters in law, Ernest "Red" Ford, James & Christine Slone, Clarence "Doc" & Jewel Slone, Odie & Wanda Slone, Hershel & Grace Slone; sister in law, Ann Ford; brothers in law, Lonnie Coffey & Buddy Tucker; father in law & mother in law, Narvel & Aulta Mae Tucker.
Eual J. Ford, 82, of Wister, OK passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.
     Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Patsy "Pat" Ruth (Tucker) Ford of the home; son, Lester & Sheryl Ford of Wister, OK; daughters, Jeanne & James Lynch of Poteau, OK, June Warren of Lakeland, FL, Patricia DeVille of Wister, OK, Phyllis & Jimmy Goodnight of Wister, OK; daughter in law, Betty Ford of Monroe, OK; son in law, Danny Bullard of Red Oak, OK; sister, Shirley Coffey of Red Oak, OK; brother, Lloyd Ford of Poteau, OK; 26 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
      Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Ellis Chapel Church in Wister, OK with Rev. Clyde Steelman and Lamar Ford officiating.  Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister.  Pallbearers will be Bud Morgan, Stevie Donathan, Chris Duncan, Mike Ford, Freddie Midgley, Eric Coffey, Gene Coffey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wilburn Claiborn, Leon Midgley, Podie Meeks, J.C. Midgley, Ed Covey & Odis Slone.

Robert Stanley



Robert Lynn Stanley, 86, of Ft. Smith, AR (formerly of Poteau, OK) passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Ft. Smith.  Robert was born February 25, 1929 in Denton, TX to Harvey Lakey & Ida Elnora (Pritchard) Stanley.  Robert was a veteran of the US Navy and served in Korea. Robert taught journalism at North Texas State University.  He married his favorite student, Nora Belle Blan.  He served as a missionary in the Philippines.  Robert retired as Director of News & Information from the Southern Baptist International Mission Board.  He was a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Poteau.  He loved people, his family and Jesus his Savior most of all.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Allie, Eva Joe and brother, H.L. 



Survivors include his wife, Nora Blan Stanley; son, Robert Stanley of Oklahoma City; daughter, Autumn Stanley Lew and husband Greg  of Stillwater, OK; granddaughters, Allie & Ellyn; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, October 24, at the First Baptist Church in Poteau with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating.  Interment will follow in Milton Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ed Abernathy, Greg Lew, Robert Stanley, Joe Smith, Mike Pritchett & Jim Mixon.



The family will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Dorothy V. Tobey



Dorothy V. Tobey, 93, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Tucson, AZ.  Dorothy was born May 14, 1922 in Poteau, OK to Milton & Lydia (Flannary) Jenson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guthrie A. Tobey; her sisters, Rose Mixon, Irene Tomas, Elanor Nickles & Freada Lester; brothers, Rev. Charles Jenson & Jim Jenson.



She is survived by her son, Gary Tobey; daughter, Nancy Shipman; sister, Betty Sommers; 4 grandsons, 7 great grandsons; Tucson care givers, Rosie McCurtin, Autumn Loomis & Betsy Kingsley; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Michael Franklin and Rev. Steve Stewart officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.

Jerry Don Guinn



Jerry Don Guinn, 70, of Shady Point, OK passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Shady Point.  Jerry was born November 9, 1944 in Heavener, OK to Tobe  Gerald & Juanita Olive (Gann) Guinn.  He was an electrician.  Jerry was a  1963 graduate of Heavener High School where he played football & baseball.  He stayed in touch with many of his HS friends over the years.   Jerry attended NSU in Tahlequah.  He served as a LeFlore County Deputy for Sheriff Roy Gentry.  Jerry coached softball for his two daughters and he made a great impression on his daughters, all 15 of them; because he considered & treated all the girls as his own.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle of the home; daughters, Dena Guinn of Poteau, OK, Angie & husband Josh Wade of Clearlake, CA; grandson, Eli; granddaughter, Haylee; sister, Shirley Ann Selph of CA; niece, Toby Kay; other children, Chris Monks of  Greenback, TN, Tracy Monks of Philadelphia, TN; 5 other grandchildren; other relatives,  loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be JD Cook, Kent Bledsoe, Jason Clark, Robert Baker, Jerry Collins, Brian Dameron; honorary pallbearers will be Larry Tustin and AV Skinner Jr.

Tommy Derryberry



Tommy Harold Derryberry, 67, of  Poteau, OK (formerly of Red Oak, OK)  passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Tommy was born March 21, 1948 in Walls, OK to Thomas Walter & Frances Lee (Cole) Derryberry.  He was a veteran of the US Army and worked in the oil/gas industry.  Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Beverly,  Faye and infant;  nephew, Tommy Tarver

Survivors include his wife, Melva of the home; daughter, Michelle  Whitehead of Poteau, OK; son, Rodney & April Derryberry of Poteau, OK; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Kay Hopkins of Truth or Consequences, NM; brothers, Frank Derryberry of Denver, CO and Steve Derryberry of Red Oak, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Friday, October 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Red Oak, OK with Rev. Johnny Montgomery officiating.  Pallbearers will be Doug Martin, Delbert Derryberry, Russell Hiatt, Dalton Wilks, Seth Strader, Alarik Schlotter, Mark Rana, Gary Weeks.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Kyle Hess & Eric Wackerly.
