May the God of "everlasting comfort" be with your family during this time of deep sorrow (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17) Losing a loved one is very devastating. Comfort can be found in God's word the Bible at Isaiah 33:24. There we read of God's promise to end sickness forever. "And no resident will say I am sick." Indeed, in Revelation 21:4 God promises to end the grieving process forever by eliminating death. This makes sense because death is an enemy not a reward (1 Corinthians 15:26). We look forward to the time when Jesus will resurrect our loved ones back to life on a paradise earth (John 5:28,29: Acts 24:15). I have found great comfort reflecting on these thoughts and scriptures during times of loss and I hope they bring you a measure of peace as well.
