Robert L. Thompson “Bob”, 63, of Poteau, OK passed
away Friday, January 4, 2019 in Poteau.
Bob was born July 26, 1955 in Poteau to Durfey Sr. & Martha (Green)
Thompson. He graduated from Poteau High
School and was retired from ODOT where he worked as a mechanic for 42 years and
enjoyed working with his friends. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Missionary
Baptist Church. He was a deputy sheriff
and reserve officer with the Poteau Police Dept. Bob was
preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Ruth Nell (Thompson)
Copkney, Durfey May Thompson, Ida Thompson,
& Durfey Thompson Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory nephews, Ancio Thompson, Devin Damae Thompson, Desmond Thompson,
Durfey Thompson III; nieces, Antoinette Thompson, Jessa Thompson, Jamese Horst;
sister in law, Carmen Thompson of Edmond, OK;
other relatives, loved ones and many beloved friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at
Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau.
The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday
evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends.
