Ernest Joe Cummings, 67, of
Pocola, OK departed this life from
Pocola Nursing Home on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Joe was born
February 18, 1949 to the late Sam &
Nellie (Bryant) Cummings of Pocola,
OK. He was a member of Macedonia Temple
Church of God in Christ in Pocola. Joe
was united in marriage to Loyce Stevens of Plaisance, LA. Joe
taught at Pocola Schools for 27 years. Joe received his Bachelor Degree from Langston University. He taught at Pocola Schools for 27 years. He
was preceded in death by three brothers & one sister.
He leaves to mourn, yet
cherish his precious memory, his wife of
45 years, Loyce; two daughters, Tammy and Tari; one son, Joe Jr.; four
granddaughters; three sisters; three brothers, nieces, nephews, a host of other
relatives & friends.
Services will be 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Pocola High School Gym, Pocola, OK with Steve
Shepard officiating. Interment will
follow in Laird Cemetery.
The family will be at the
funeral home in Pocola on Friday evening from 5-8 pm to visit with relatives
& friends.
