Charles Dero Abbott, 69, of
Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Poteau. Charles was born April 18, 1947 in Sentinel,
OK to Dero & Lois (Addison) Abbott.
He worked as a driller in the oil field.
Charles was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents;
grandson, Devin; brother, Sam; & sister, Bonnie.
Survivors include his wife,
Pauline Hope Abbott; daughter & son in law, Cathy & Darrin Pitman of
Poteau, OK; sons, Sam & wife DeLaun Abbott of Poteau, OK, Bill & wife
Jenifer Abbott of Pearcy, Robert & wife Kim Abbott of Searcy, AR; 11
grandchildren, Melissa, Shane, Nathan, Savannah, Lance, Ashton, Bryce,
Kayleigh, Lyndi, Briley, Dillon; 4 great grandchildren, Carter, Silas, Celia
and Alexis; stepdaughters, Patricia and Priscilla Smallwood; step grandchildren,
Christina, Rachel, Josephine, Monica, Jazmun, Jade, Alexis, Autum; sisters,
Reba Abbott of Ft. Smith, AR, Dora & husband Marco Escobar of Houston, TX;
brothers, Hank & wife Willene Abbott of Poteau, OK, Woodie & wife Bea
Abbott of Ft. Smith, AR; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev.
Charlie Scott officiating. Interment
will follow in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
