Mary Ann Gallant, 71, of Poteau,
OK passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014
in Poteau, OK.
Mary Ann was born March 9, 1943 in Midwest
City, OK. Mary Ann was a legal secretary for years and
was currently the office manager for Rural Water Dist. #14 in Spiro, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Henry Gallant; her mother,
Jane Ellen (Land) Young sister, Linda Underwood.
Survivors include her sons,
Eric Gallant of Cookson, OK, Evan & Stephanie Gallant of Poteau, OK; 4
grandchildren; sisters, Barbara
Underwood of Oklahoma City, OK, Saundra Rogers of Del City, OK; beloved Aunt Ruth & Uncle T. Eubanks;
other relatives, loved ones and beloved friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK
with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andy Barnes,
Terry Hale, John Henson, Rickie DeShazo, Glenn Mize, Johnny Roy.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.

By accident I found Maryann's name and address after she had returned to OK, having lived in Arizona for several years, and wanted to know if she still lived at that address. It was with sadness that my search indicated she had died in 2014. Maryann and I started to work with a law firm within weeks of each other in 1987. We were co-workers with our work stations next to each other. Since we were new employees we became quick friends. I was sorry when she left as she and her husband had decided to return to OK. As so often happens we lost touch but I thought of her often. As an "elderly" person often does I have begun going through papers, etc and have reached out to long a go friends. I know she was happy when she returned to her previous home and family. We shared many laughs and some tears.
