Terry Dean Childers, 51, of Pocola, OK
passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Pocola.
Terry was born October 7, 1961 in Ft.
Smith, AR to James
Harold & Norma Lee (Chaffin) Childers.
He was a truck driver and mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; grandparents, Maurice & Dovie Chaffin, Cecil & Addie Childers;
and nephew, Harold “Red” Brown; uncle, Charles Chaffin; aunt, Edith Chaffin Gregory. Our
brother, our best friend, and our handyman for anything or anybody, he was
always there to lend a helping hand. He
was a good man with a big heart and he loved his family dearly. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his daughter,
Shanity Leigh Childers of Cabot, AR; son, Reece Dean Childers of Cabot, AR; 4
grandchildren; 2 sisters, Becky & Robert Chandler and Brenda Sweeten of Pocola, OK;
1 brother, Randy & Angie Childers of Pocola, OK; special buddy, Robert Chandler; aunts, Patsy Chaffin Jones of Dallas, TX, Sue Chaffin Hopkins of Van Buren, AR; uncles, James Chaffin of Valley View, TX, Melvin Chaffin of Ft. Smith, AR, Billy Chaffin of Wichita, KS, Tommy Chaffin of Van Buren, AR, Doyle Chaffin of Denton, TX; many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins,
relatives & friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Friday,
February 1, 2013 at Christian Grove Free Will Baptist
Church, Pocola, OK
with Brandon Halsey & Rev. Gaylon Freeman officiating. Pallbearers will be Wesley Watts, Steve
Hobbs, Jamie Childers, Eric Steffey, Kenny Brown, Richie Steffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Dampier,
Jim Bollinger, Tim Elkins, & Mikey Terrell.
The family will be at the funeral
home in Pocola on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
