Reverend Ray L. Hood

 

Funeral Service for Reverend Ray L. Hood, 100 of Pocola, Oklahoma will be at 10am on Friday, August 5, 2022 at First Assembly of God in Muldrow, Oklahoma with Reverend Shawn Money officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home

Ray was born on May 27, 1922 in Panama, Oklahoma to Cora (Cummings) Hood and Columbus G. Hood and passed away on August 2, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Pauline Hood; parents; brothers and sisters, Ivie Smith, Aurbie Willingham, Lester Hood, Omer Hood, Jonnie Hood, Dulice Browder, Lorena Bayne, Jimmie Hood. Ray was called into the ministry in 1954 and has served in the ministery for 68 years.

Survivors include: nephews, Bryan Grober, Colton Grober, Caelum Grober, Lucas Johnson; nieces, Chasidy Johnson and husband Dillon, Kenzlie Newby, Stacy Grober; sister in law, Pat Grober and husband Bill; numerous other relatives, and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Cody Jackson, Dylan Johnson, Devon Johnson, Edwin Ogdon, Ted Stamps, Keith Williams.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Thursday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Pocola.

Memories of him from Muldrow years ago! Some of my classmates attended his church and they were nicer than many of the other kids since this was during integration! So, I am convinced it had to do with his ministry! Take your rest!
