Irene Peck Johnson, 91, of Fort Gibson, OK (formerly of Poteau) passed away February 6, 2022 in Ft. Gibson. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ft. Gibson, a 1948 graduate of Poteau High School, a long-time employee of the LeFlore County Assessor’s office until her retirement in 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Owen, Melvin, Harrell and Stanley; sisters, Gertrude Blevins, Leta Kirkley, Lena Gregory and Lillian Folsom; her husband, Edward Lee Johnson and daughter Lynda Kay Johnson-Beck.
She is survived by one sister, Mae Moss of Birmingham, AL; her son, Gary Lee and wife Karen of Ft. Gibson; grandchildren, Lauren Holderby & husband Ryan, Ross Lee & wife Micah all of Ft. Gibson, Trisha & Leslie Beck of North Carolina; five great grandsons; twelve nieces and seven nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 1-3 pm at the funeral home.
