Melba Brown

Celebration of Life family reception will be held at Covenant Church in Poteau on Friday - November 12 from 5 pm - 7 pm.

.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider donations to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. 

 Melba Jean Brown passed away peacefully on November 6 at her home with her family by her side.  She was born in Tulsa, OK on September 13th to Frank and Lura.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters Nadine and Chris, and 1 brother Bobby.  She was survived by her husband Paul Brown and her 2 daughters Lezli and Lori and her husband Wayne.  

Melba graduated from nursing school and worked in the emergency room at St Josephs's Hospital in KC, Mo.  She was a school nurse at John Nowlin Elementary and retired as a pediatric nurse in Independence, MO.  

Proverbs 31:21 best describes Melba: She is clothed in strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future.   A God-fearing woman of faith, loved by many for her sweet spirit and winning smile.
