Wanda Lee Smith, 59, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in Poteau. Wanda was born September 21, 1961 in Baltimore, MD to Emmett Everett Sr. & June Dolores (Morton) Lathe. Wanda was a loving woman who cherished her family. She enjoyed spending time cooking and caring for her young son. She never allowed a stray to go hungry and enjoyed animals a great deal. Wanda was a very spiritual woman and will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Emmett E. Lathe Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Steven C. Smith; daughters, Shannon Willcox, Jessica Smith, and Jackie Brown; son, Benjamin Smith; grandchildren, Sierra Willcox, Jeffrey Willcox, Ericka Willcox, Jenna Vollmer, Devin Willcox, Noah Vollmer, Elijah Vollmer, Tyler Stinnett-Pearce, Randy Pearce, Daniel Pearce; great granddaughter, Colleen Marasco; sisters, Shirley J. Peterson, Susan L. Buckman, and June D. Peterson; brother, David A.W. Lathe; 7 nephews, 7 nieces; and many great nieces and nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
