Richard "Dustin" Parker




Richard Dustin Parker, 33 , of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 near McAlester, OK.  Dustin was born April 13, 1984 in Farmersville, LA.  He worked in the oilfield.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willis "Corkey" Parker and James Holleman; aunt, Pamela Gayle Parker.  Dustin never met a stranger and loved his family and life more than anything.

He is survived by his wife, Starla Poole Parker of the home; daughters, Dixie & Daisy Parker of the home; parents, Ricky & Brenda Parker of Ft. Smith; brothers, Jason Parker of Cameron, OK, Brandon Parker & Jeremy Parker of Ft. Smith; sisters, Crystal McPherson of San Diego, CA, Paige Gallia of Pocola, OK; grandmother, Mary Holleman of Gibsland, LA; birth mother, Sherri Ledger;  other relatives, loved ones and many friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Pocola High School Gym, Pocola, OK with Kyle Jarnigan officiating.  Pallbearers will be Jason, Brandon & Jeremy Parker, Eric Pylant, Josh Poole, Josh Cockburn and Brian Patton.  Honorary pallbearers will be G.A. Griffith and Jerry Rusnak.

You may sign the guest book Monday from 9 am to 4 pm at Pocola Chapel.

Dustin was one of the most well-adjusted kids I have had the pleasure of meeting. Always happy to see you, pleasant to be around, fun to hang with. We have suffered a tragic loss... My heart goes out to his family, also fine folks and dear friends.

How very sad to hear of Dustin's death. Enjoyed him in my Sunday school class for many years. We loved to sing 'i say a little prayer for you' each Sunday. Such a big loss. My heart goes out to his family.

I'm so very sorry for y'alls lost. Dustin was great person with a big heart, he was always smiling always had a great out look on life, it has been many years since I have seen or talked to him but that's the way I always remembered him and I will carry those memories of him with me always. RIP brother, you will be greatly missed.
