Artie Bell Margaret Deleplank, 74, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Heavener, OK. Artie was born in Calhoun, OK on September 10, 1937 to Frances & Dora (Chitwood) Phillips. Artie was a loving wife, mother and the best Granny anyone could have. She worked for 40 years as a CNA and touched many lives in her career. She devoted her life to taking care of others including friends & family. She never met a stranger, had an open door and a place at the dinner table for anyone who was hungry. She loved taking care & cooking for her family & friends. Artie was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters, 5 brothers, & son-in-law, Steve Hastings.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bob of the home; daughters & son-in-law, Dora & Rick Piersant, Debra Hastings of Poteau, OK; sons & daughters in law, Bobby & Dawn Deleplank of Poteau, OK, Hoss & Chantay Deleplank of Shady Point, OK, Billy Deleplank of Poteau, OK; 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers will be Billy Cook, Al Monks, Chris Bunner, Billy Hoffman, George Urchison, & Rodney Hemphill.
The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family! It was a joyful experience to have worked with her as a CNA and to have been able to be with her the last few months! I am going to miss her beautiful smile and her sense of humor!
Artie was a dear friend and a great lady.... cared for my Daddy at the LeFlore Nursing Home.
