Bernice Weaver


                       Viola “Bernice” Weaver, 82, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Panama.  Bernice was born August 6, 1935, in Calhoun, OK to Roy & Grace (Baxter) Monks.   She was a lady of faith; a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Panama.  Bernice loved to can; she was famously known for her pickles & her gift of gab.  She loved to sew/quilt and she loved her family.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Melford Wesley Weaver Sr. on 1/28/2007;  daughter, Melveena Weaver-Bates; and her siblings.

                       Survivors include her son & daughter in law, Wes & Angela Weaver of Howe, OK; grandchildren, Trey Weaver, Bobbye Gray, Megan Forsberg, Kelsey Weaver, Cody Ramsey and Amber Reece; 7 great grandchildren; special nephew, Joe Swenson who made his home with the Weavers for four years; special friends, Bill & Cindy Willis of Poteau; sisters in law, Goldie Fowler,  Joyce Smith,  Eldoris Weaver & Mary Weaver; special caregivers, Georgie & David Bailey; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

                       Services will be  10 AM– Thursday, June 21, 2018  at the First Assembly of God Church, Panama, OK with Bros. Brian Smith & Robert Hill.  Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Trey Weaver, Cody Ramsey, Cole Forsberg, James ‘PeeWee’ Fowler, Al Monks and David Bailey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Donathan, Joe Swenson, Lance Gray, Clifford Weaver and Alford Weaver.

                       The family will be at the funeral  home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Mrs. Bernice was a wonderful, kind, caring, loving, genuine,friend/aunt any woman could ever ask for. Bernice never met a stranger. She always welcomed every person with a smile n a hug wether she just met u or had known u since u were knee high in diapers 😊always there for you if u ever needed someone to talk to. She touched a lot of lives n will be missed dearly
