Tom Wayne Oakes, 68, of
Poteau, OK passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 in Ft. Smith, AR. Tom was born June 29, 1947 in McAlester, OK
to Roy & Berdell (Barnes) Oakes. He
worked for Poteau Public Schools. Tom
was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Marilyn; siblings Everett Ray Oakes, Trish Oakes, Ruby "Chub" Gullick and son, Tommy Lee Oakes.
Survivors include his
daughter Tracy Acton; son, Randall Oakes; sisters, Monty Langdell and Jack, Mary
Butler & Jerry; brothers, Mickey Oakes & Amanda, Johnny Oakes &
Helen, Garey Oakes & Debbie; special numerous nieces & nephews;
grandchildren, Kasi Albert, Dayne Young, & Matthew Eidchun; great grandchildren, Jordan Young, Karli,
Kara & John Albert, Kaylee Ruth Cook; other relatives, loved ones and
friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim
Cook officiating. Pallbearers will be
Terry Couch, Dustin Bell, Raymond Thompson, Randy Oakes, Dayne Young and Dennis
Gullick.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
