Joe Escobar Soriano

Funeral Service for Joe Escobar Soriano, 81 of Poteau, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Evans Chapel of Memories  in Poteau, Oklahoma with Reverend Jim Cook  officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Joe Soriano, 81, of Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022. He was born on August 10, 1941, in Austin, Texas to Concha (Escobar) Soriano and Jose' Soriano. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Luz Soriano; two daughters, Andrea and Yvonne Soriano; and his sister, Amelia Soriano Aredondo.

He was a hard worker and previously retired from the City of Poteau – Street Department. He also did upholstery work in his garage - Airport Auto Trim. He enjoyed watching football and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He brought family and friends together by smoking brisket with all the fixings and inviting everyone over to his and grandma’s home. This home was a haven of peace, and the door was always open for many of us through the years when we needed a place to stay.

Survivors include his children: Linda McCroskey of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Diana Bull of Sallisaw; Josie Moore of Cameron; and Joe Soriano III of Poteau; grandchildren: Michael McCroskey of Poteau, Leslie McCroskey of Tulsa, Angie Lambert of Poteau, Christina Rivas of Atoka, Amy Brown Manus of Sallisaw, Matthew Moore and Jonathan Moore of Cameron, Ashley Smith of Poteau, Guiliano and Angelo Soriano of Nixa, Missouri; Lexi and Cruz Soriano; brothers Auggie and Daniel Soriano of Austin, Texas; Sister Carrie Sanchez of Austin, Texas; numerous great grandchildren, other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

Visitation – Friday evening from 6-8 pm.


Pallbearers: Michael McCroskey, Matthew & Jonathan Moore, Guliano & Angelo Soriano, Cruz Soriano.

Joe was legendary. Everyone liked him. I'm proud to say Joe was my friend. I offer up my condolences to the whole family. Dianna I love you sister.
