Allene Hecker, 75, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in Ft. Smith, AR. Allene was born June 20, 1945 in Columbus, OH to Clifford & Goldie Wheeler Lyon. Her life’s work was always taking care of others. She worked as a CMA for 22 years at the Oklahoma Veterans Center. Her favorite place to visit was Hawaii; favorite color red. She was a loving and devoted mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margie Lou Hecker, Pauline Jenkins & Bill Lyon.
Survivors include her daughter, Candy Nelson; son, Kenneth Hecker II; sisters, Illene Plummer & Janet Boggs; brother, Stan Lyon; grandchildren, Justin Morris, Jeremy Morris, Keira Nelson Xavier Hecker, Joseph Hecker, Thomas Hecker; great grandchildren, Annsley, Kira & Xander Hecker; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
