Jimmie Blue Estes, 82, of Cameron, OK departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Cameron. Jimmie was born October 14, 1938 in Millsap, TX to Olen O. & Lester (Ironmonger) Estes. He moved to Oklahoma at the age of 15 and graduated from Cameron High School in 1957. He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Walls, in 1958. A short time later they moved to the Knothole community and began their farming and ranching life while at the same time working at Johnson Controls for 36 years.
Jim was a member of the Church of Christ for 67 years, on the board of directors at Farm Bureau for many years, a member of the LeFlore County Cattlemen’s Association and various other activities.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anita, three daughters, Teresa and Tracy Ellis of Tulsa, OK, Sandra & Ronny Lum of Knothole, and Kathy & Scott Martin of Knothole, seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren; and one nephew Jimmie Burden of Knothole. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and two sisters.
Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Poteau Church of Christ with Tracy Ellis, Ron Lum and Scott Martin officiating . Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Jerod and Justin Lum, Colby & Clay Martin, Alayna Benefield and Kelsi Sellers.
The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
