Leona May Thompson, 68, of
Monroe, OK passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at her home. Leona was born September 26, 1948 in Mesa, Arizona
to Arvil Lee & Rose May (Fryhover) Ellis.
She was preceded in death by son, Philip E. Casteel; husbands, Philip
Casteel, Michael Roy Sweeney & Virgle W. Thompson; sons in law, David Turk
& Claude Jones; brother, Karl Stephen "Tommy" Skinner. Leona was a mother , grandmother, former
restaurant owner in Poteau, former truck driver. She loved life and everything in it. She will be greatly missed by all.
Leona is survived by her
daughters & sons in law, Liz & Mark Collins of Poteau, OK,
Tina & Donald Sanders
of Golden Valley, AZ, Malinda Sweeney of Monroe, OK; grandchildren, Bradley
& Ashley Oliver, Taylor Collins & Travis Simco, Angela & Lyndal
Ritter, Christopher & Devin Williams, John Jones, Donald III, Derek,
Dakota, William & Alexandria, Amber Sanders, Jason, Joseph & Jerami
Casteel; great grandchildren, Delilah, Emerson, Lindsey, Aurora, Mike, Wyatt,
Rawley, Luke, Collins; brothers, Kenny, Marty, Randy, Dwayne, Tim
& Clifford and their wives; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives,
loved ones and friends.
Services are pending. The family would like to thank EVERYONE for
their prayers and everything that has been done for their family.
