Rudolph Carpenter, 81, of Wister, OK passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Wister. Rudy was born July 12, 1930 in Red Oak, OK to Walter C. & Lydia (Dodd) Carpenter. He was a veteran of the US Army. Rudy owned a barber shop in Wister for over 50 years. He had cut as many as 5 generations of the same family’s hair.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Luree of the home; sons, Gary & Emmie Carpenter, Ricky Carpenter, James Carpenter all of Wister, Rodney Carpenter of Enid, OK; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren & 3 step great grandchildren; brother, Landy & Tillie Carpenter of Poteau, OK; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 10 am, Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, OK with Rev. Jack Covey officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers will be Glen Midgley, Marvin Evans, Bro. John Brown, Bro. Joe Trammel, Donald Lotchleas, & Bobby Lotchleas.
