Helen Robison


Helen Robison, 94, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 in her home.  Helen was born April 3, 1925 in Hopper, AR to William C. “Bill” & Sara A. “Tiny” (Price) Davis.  Helen was the oldest of 11 children.  Her passion was cooking – and she was really, really good at it!  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Bea Cobb &  Burl Robison; siblings, Ellen Davis, Gloria Davis, Billie Jean Coleman, Danny Davis and Wilburn Davis.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Easley, Paulette & Denver Easley all of Yorba Linda, CA, Gatha & Bobby Martin of Bokoshe, OK; son, Robert & Lisa Cobb of Lubbock, TX; stepdaughter, Loretta Holland of San Jacinto, CA; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Faye George of Spring, TX, Bonnie Reid of Sugarland, TX, Nelda Winkler of La Grange, TX; 2 brothers, James & Karen Davis of Midwest City, OK, Frank & Judy Davis of Edmond, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 1:30 pm, Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Poteau Church of Christ with Scott Martin officiating.

Esther Cannon


          Esther Florene Cannon, 69, of Cameron, Oklahoma passed away January 24, 2020, in Cameron, Oklahoma.  Esther was born May 24, 1950, in Norman, Oklahoma to William Henry and Helena (Hoffman)  Kitching. Esther was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman, Oklahoma. She graduated from Norman High School in 1968 and then attended the University of Oklahoma.  While at the University of Oklahoma she met Jimmy Ray Tate and they were married June 2, 1972.  Esther and Jimmy had one son, William Ray Tate, who was born December 27, 1974 and passed away December 29, 1974.  Esther was a homemaker who also owned and operated a licensed kennel.  She enjoyed watching sports and spending time with family and friends.  They remained married until Jimmy’s death April 1, 1994.  Esther later married Gary Cannon and they remained married until Gary’s death February 17, 2011.  Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Ray Tate; son, William Ray Tate; parents, William and Helena Kitching; Sister, Kathleen Madden, Brother in law, Gordon Madden and husband, Gary Cannon.
           Survivors include her nephew, Christopher Madden; Nephew and his wife, Justin and Angela Madden, great nephews, Tanner Madden and Gabriel Williams and Great Nieces, Blakely Madden and Peyton Madden. 
          Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Fairhill Cemetery in Cameron, Oklahoma.  David Hardin will be officiating.

Larry James Fountain


        Larry James Fountain, 75, of Pocola, OK passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his home.  Larry was born September 17, 1944 in Ft. Smith, AR to Delbert & Maudie (Rains) Fountain who precede him in death.   Larry was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma.  He and his sweet wife of 57 years, Frances, have 6 children who spent their lives not too far from home.  Larry loved education and spent years setting up the EMS programs for Kiamichi Technology Center and ended his career at Tulsa Technology Center as the Director of the EMT and Paramedic programs.  He was a Command Sergeant Major in the US Army Reserves.
           He leaves behind his wife Frances; children,  Lorrie Colgrove & husband Steve of Claremore, OK, Catherine Owens & husband Bobby of Pocola, OK, Lisa Lanum & husband Joseph of Pocola, OK, Cheryl Figuero & husband Tito of Tulsa, OK, James Fountain & wife Lindsey of Ft. Smith, AR, Jennie Howard of Tulsa, OK; 22 grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
            Burial will be Tuesday, January 28, at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK at 1 pm.  Memorial services will be 3 pm, at  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day at 625 Coggins Rd Poteau, OK 74953
  Pallbearers will be  Ian Colgrove, Scottlynd Colgrove, Kyle Duran, Jared Fleetwood,  Tristen Fountain, Kurtis Lanum, Christian Owens,  David Vest.

Cecil "Buck" Archey


         Cecil Eugene “Buck” Archey, 75, of Cameron, OK passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Cameron.  Buck was born June 23, 1944 in Fairhill, OK to Edward A. & Clauda (Hilburn) Archey.  He was a carpenter & rancher.  Buck served in the National Guard.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 7 brothers, Jim, George, Robert, Roy, Jiggs, Bill & Delbert; 3 sisters, Elise Hale, Lois Brown & Foy Brown.
          Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda; son, Michael Shawn Archey of Cameron, OK; grandchildren, Austin David Archey & wife Kaylee of Kentucky, Victoria Lynn Archey & Westin Cole Archey of Poteau, OK; sister, Francis Loomis of Williams, OK; brother, Ray Archey of Shady Point, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Services will be 10 am, Monday, January 27,  2020  at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook & Leonard Presley officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
          The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm to visit with relatives & friends.  Evans & Miller Funeral Home - Poteau

Lawrence H. Miller


Lawrence H. Miller, 97, OF Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in Talihina Veteran Center.  Lawrence was born in Evansville on October 27, 1922 to Lawrence Sr. & Carrie (Conner) Miller.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII.  He was an aircraft machinist and a Mason.  He was preceded in death by his wives, Doris Dickerson Miller & Dorothy Turrentine Miller; son, Ricky Miller & Brother, James H. Miller. 

Survivors include his sons, Russell Miller of Poteau, OK, Toney Miller of Broken Arrow, OK; daughters, Pamela Alverado, Rixa Williams & Rhonda Kinder all of Tulsa, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Friday, January 24, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at  Oakland Cemetery.
