Paul Nichols




 
Paul Oliver Nichols, 92, of Poteau, OK, entered the gates of Heaven on February 15, 2018, at the Oklahoma Veteran's Center in Talihina, OK.  He was born in Hatfield, AR, on June 22, 1925, to Austin B. & Cleo V. (Collins) Nichols.   He served his country, in the Navy, during WWII, then re-enlisted, with the Army, during the Korean War.  Paul was a loving son, brother, father & grandfather. He was also a songwriter, with a great love & passion for country music.  He provided live music at the Senior Citizen's Center in Poteau and several other venues, all over Leflore County, for years and entertained at the Veteran's Center on occasion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Walter Durant; step-mother, Sadie Nichols;  his four children, Paulette Harris, Shirley Neff, Frank Nichols & Larry Nichols; two sisters, Jean Bass & Pearl Bost; and five brothers, C.R. Durant, Carl Durant, Johnny Durant, Walter Durant & Charles Durant, Odell Nichols.

Paul is survived by a son, Paul Hacker of Oklahoma City, OK; Eight grandchildren, Shawna Neff Martin, Jon Sloan, Ron Sloan, Lisa Nichols Sawyer, Frank Nichols Jr., Tony Nichols, Marie Neff Pitchford and Tonya Teter; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; Two sisters, Mildred Huddleston of Oklahoma City, OK and Carolyn Baca & husband, Archie of Poteau, OK; One brother, Bobby Nichols of Heavener, OK; Sister in Law, Edna Nichols; Special friend, Nancy Duncan; And many, many friends & loved ones.

Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK.  Interment will be in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK. 

Pallbearers will be Tony Nichols, Jon Sloan, Shawna Neff Martin, Brody Martin, Tim Stinson & Danny Stinson. 


Donald "Pops" Caldwell



Donald Ray "Pops" Caldwell, 79, of  Shady Point, Ok passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his home.  Donald was born in Shady Point on September 10, 1938 to Don and Lovie (Newcomb) Caldwell.  He was a rancher working for Dog Creek Ranch, and Roy Reed Trust LLC for 50 years.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lois and Brother W.A. Caldwell.



Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Peggy Caldwell; Sons,  Danny Caldwell and wife Allison, Tommy Caldwell and wife Shauna Caldwell all of Shady Point; Grandsons Colin of Shady Point, Brett and wife Aarika of Bokoshe, Daniel and wife Melissa of Summerfield; Step grandson Clayton of Shady Point; Great grandson Brex Caldwell; Great Grandaughters Kinzler and Parker Grace; Special friends  Dr. Scott Clark, Bob and Deanna Reed, Harry and Linda Atkins; Special Employee of 28 years Jack Lamberson of Shady Point; Nephews Bill Ward and Ronald Ward; Sisters-in-law, Leta Hollie, and Debbie Bryant; Brothers-in-law, Jimmy Stroud, and Billy Stroud;  numerous other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services  will be 2 pm, Monday,  February 19, 2018 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Reverends Lynn Bullard, and Jim Graham officiating.   Interment will follow in Caldwell Cemetery, Dog Creek, OK.  Pallbearers will be Richard King, Paul Fields, Andrew Burke, Michael Rodriguez, Dr. Scott Clark, and Dan Schindler.



The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Judy Collins



Judy Ann Collins passed away on February 13, 2018, at Carrus Hospital in Sherman, TX.  She was born in McAlester, OK to November 8, 1959, to James and Adeline Thomas.  She graduated from Crowder High School in 1978.  She later went on to study at East Central University in Ada, OK.  Judy has many jobs in which all of them  she always enjoyed helping people.  She was the youngest of four children.  She resided in Marietta, OK with  her two daughters, Holly & husband Keenan Billy and Tyger Collins.  She was preceded in death by her parents JD & Adeline Thomas; grandparents, Dewy & Linda Thomas, and Cecil & Elsie Bush. 



Judy is survived by her three siblings, Mary Hinchey of  Marietta, OK, Roy Thomas  and James David Thomas of McAlester, OK; daughters, Holly Billy and Tyger Collins of Marietta, OK; grandchildren,  Corbin Griffin, Silas Billy, Madison Billy, Heaven Collins, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 



Services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 10 am, at Ellis Chapel in Wister, OK.  Judy was one of the kindest people you ever met.  she never met a stranger and would do all she could to help someone.  She loved her girls, grandkids and her family very much, they meant everything to her.
