Mary Green



Mary Green, 81, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Panama.  Mary was born  August 20, 1934 in  Atkins, AR to Bill & Rena E. (Ford) Romines. Mary attended the Panama Free Will Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Jo Green &Roy Jackson Rogers; brothers, Bullet, Kermit, W.H. Romines; sisters, Genevia Martin, Millie Ridenour and Blanche Romines.

Survivors include her daughters, Rena Inez Green of Henryetta, OK, Peggy Mae Green & Rose J. Rogers of Panama, OK; son, Anthony Gene Sr.  & Kattie Green of Liberty, OK; sons in law, Lennie Brown of Panama, OK, Terry Lovell of Shady Point, OK; daughter in law, Rebecca Dawn Bishop of Muldrow, OK ; 11 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 7  great great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the Panama Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Nolan officiating.   Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK.   Pallbearers will be Ron Eatmon, Dickson Eatmon,  Dennis Craig, James Butler Jr., Anthony Green II, Jay Tate;  Honorary Pallbearers will be  Dwight Green, Stephen Bishop, Christopher Dean, Nolan Gibson, Charlie Craig, Chris Tate, Terry Lovell, Lennie Brown. 

The family will be at the funeral home tonight (Monday) 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Estelle Durbin Ragland

    Estelle (Durbin) Ragland went home to be with her savior from her home in Talihina, OK on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the age of 96.  Estelle was born on October 26, 1919 in Recyl, OK to Earnest E. & Dona (Doshier) Durbin.  Estelle devoted her life to providing a wonderful home for her husband and four children.  She worked tirelessly to provide home-canned fruits & vegetables and was an excellent seamstress.  She also spent many years teaching the first grade class at Hartshorne First Baptist Church.  Estelle was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Herman Lee Ragland on 8/19/2015;  her parents; brothers, Doyle, Loye, Ethan; sister, Lillian.
She leaves to cherish her memory her  daughters & sons in law, Janet & Dale Riley of Eufaula, OK, Susan & Reed Heflin of Oologah, OK; sons & daughter in law, Thomas Lee Ragland of San Diego, CA, Jerry & Brenda Ragland of Broken Bow, OK;  6 grandchildren & their  spouses, Tim & Lauren Ragland of Idabel, OK, Stephannie Ragland of Broken Bow, OK , Bryan & Mary Ann Riley of Argyle, TX, Andra & Greg Pinkston of Jenks, OK,  Brent Heflin (currently attending school in Dublin, Ireland) , Linden & Sasha  Down of Chicago, IL; 8 great grandchildren, Erin, Daylen & Anderson Riley, Mason & Matthew Ragland, Cole, Logan and Lucas Pinkston; sisters, Hazel Burch of Lubbock, TX, Shirlene Price of Arkansas City, KS ; brother, Harlan Durbin of Oklahoma City; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
       Services will be 1 pm, Monday, May 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, LeFlore, OK with Rev. Larry Matthiesen officiating.  Interment will follow in LeFlore Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Thomas, Jerry  & Tim Ragland, Dale & Bryan Riley, Reed Heflin.

Edward Emmett Watts



Edward Emmett  Watts of Howe, OK, passed away Tuesday May 17, 2016 in Howe, OK. Edward was born November 10, 1929 in Milwaukee, WI, to Earl  & Emily (Peaslee) Watts. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Edward was preceded in death by his former wife, Janis Watts; His parents; and Brother, Donald Watts.

Survivors include his wife Frances Watts of the home;  stepchildren, Sonja & William Thomas of Howe, OK, Rodger & Kathleen  Stephens of  Poteau, OK, Gary Roberson of NV, Dennis &  Kim Roberson, Robin Watt all of  CO;  sister, Kay Frances Watts of Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Robert Watts & Larry Watts of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren, and numerous other relatives, loved ones, and friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 20, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, in Poteau, OK, With Don Cherry officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Monroe, OK.
 

Jessie Faye Woodall



Jessie Faye Woodall, 79, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 in
Ft. Smith, AR. Jessie was born December 20, 1936 in Keota, OK to Eston and Beulah (Croom) Greenwood. She worked for Leflore County Youth Services. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Eston & Beulah (Groom) Greenwood; husbands, Veston E. Woodall & Kenneth C. Swindle; & son, Gary D Swindle.

Survivors include her 4 daughters, Angela Woodall of Barling, AR, Cheri & husband Bobby Mitch of Alma, AR, Krista Jamison of Poteau, OK, & Linda Swindle of Poteau, OK; 4 Sons & Daughters in law, Raymond & Katia Woodall of Tulsa, OK, Kim & Shirley Swindle of Bokoshe, OK, George & Gail Swindle of Shady Point, OK, Tommy & Tami Swindle of Bokoshe, OK; 6 Sisters, Pat Richardson of Panama, OK, Sybil Kyner of Kansa City, MO, Rosa Lee Judd of Bakersfield, CA, Virginia Ballard of Keota, OK, Shirley Hull of Longview, TX, & Cheryl Conroe of Alma, AR; 2 Brothers, Richard Greenwood of Napa Valley, CA, & Charles Greenwood of San Jose, CA; 27 Grandchildren & a number of great grandchildren;  other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Charles Dero Abbott



Charles Dero Abbott, 69, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Poteau.  Charles was born April 18, 1947 in Sentinel, OK to Dero & Lois (Addison) Abbott.  He worked as a driller in the oil field.  Charles was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Devin; brother, Sam; & sister, Bonnie.



Survivors include his wife, Pauline Hope Abbott; daughter & son in law, Cathy & Darrin Pitman of Poteau, OK; sons, Sam & wife DeLaun Abbott of Poteau, OK, Bill & wife Jenifer Abbott of Pearcy, Robert & wife Kim Abbott of Searcy, AR; 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Shane, Nathan, Savannah, Lance, Ashton, Bryce, Kayleigh, Lyndi, Briley, Dillon; 4 great grandchildren, Carter, Silas, Celia and Alexis; stepdaughters, Patricia and Priscilla Smallwood; step grandchildren, Christina, Rachel, Josephine, Monica, Jazmun, Jade, Alexis, Autum; sisters, Reba Abbott of Ft. Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Charlie Scott officiating.  Interment will follow in Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK.

Donald Ellis Murray



Donald Ellis Murray, 80, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Poteau.  Donald was born July 5, 1935 in Wetumka, OK to Hugh & Eugena (Williams) Murray.  Donald was a veteran of the US Air Force.  He was retired from Johnson Controls.  Donald loved to work on cars.  He loved football, his family and drinking coffee with his friends.  He loved to watch his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter & son in law, Marsha Lea & Jeremiah Johnson of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Lexus, Christian, Gabriel, Ryan & Jeremiah; sisters, Mary Ott of Chester, AR, Judy Collier of Rockwall, TX, Peggy Boyles of McAllen, TX; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating.    Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends.

STEVEN LEE STONE



Steven Lee Stone, 58 Yukon, OK passed away after a long struggle with cancer April 26, 2016 in his home surrounded by family.

Steve was born February 26, 1958 to Donald Stone and Barbara (Rice) Greer in Carlsbad, NM.  Steve is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He was a passionate mechanic but dedicated to his work as a company man in the oil field.  Steve never met a stranger and could be a big jokester.  As an avid car collector, Steve had a passion for sports cars and a need for speed.  His favorite car being his 2015, Z06 stingray corvette.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Shirley (Sales) Stone, daughter Leigh Ann (Brett) Taylor, son Steven Mark (Amber) Stone and daughter Brenda Stone (Tris Randall) and 9 grand-children.  His mother Barbara (Ken) Greer and two sisters Joyce (Roy) Boatwright  and Kathy (Bob) Cole.  Steve is preceded in death by his father Donald Stone, & his grandparents, Claud & Maud Rice of Howe, OK

Services will be 2 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Poteau First Free Will Baptist Church with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
