Jim Clayton II

 

          James (Jim) Fred Clayton II passed away on Friday, 14 May, 2021 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident caused by a diabetic seizure. Jim was born July 18, 1945 in Fort Smith, AR to Sibyle Pollyanna Caldwell and James Fred Clayton. He attended Panama school through eighth grade, Muskogee Jr High, then finished High school in Ft. Smith in 1963. He attended college in Ft, Smith and in El Paso, where he met and married his first wife, Bobbie Orr. They had two daughters, Danielle and Jo Beth. He spent most of his working career in sales with American Fence and an irrigation and pipe and supply company in the El Paso area. Years later he met and married his second wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Davis in Ft. Worth. They then moved to Anthony, New Mexico. After an accident in 1966 took his left eye, doctors advised he take up golf to help his focus with one eye. He found that he was good at it and it became his favorite pastime.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter Ashleigh Kruzel.

          He is survived by his first wife Bobbie Orr Clayton of Dallas, his second wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Davis Clayton of Alvarado, TX, two daughters Danielle Wills of Cleveland, OH and Jo Beth Kruzel (Bob) of Flower Mound, TX, three grandsons, Adam Wills (Nicky), Ryan Wills, and Eric Wills, Cleveland, OH and two granddaughters, Peighton Kruzel and Parker Kruzel of Flower Mound, TX, one sister Carol Havill and husband Dean of Sarcoxie, MO.; five nieces, Phoebe Havill of Richardson, TX, Polly Anna Oliver (Kent) and family of Elizabeth, CO, Penny Moore (Douglas} and family of Sarcoxie, MO, DeAnna  Hlousek and family of Springfield, MO, and Keri Dawn Atchley (John) and family of Grand Prairie, TX, one aunt, Lee Oma Caldwell of Hugo, OK, and numerous cousins.

          Services will be 10 am, Monday, May 24, 2021 at Evans Chapel of Memories.  Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bob Kruzel, Adam, Ryan & Eric Wills, Doug Moore and Chuck Wheaton.  The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
