Winnie
Mae Phillips, 84, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in Poteau. Winnie was born September 15, 1935 in
Waldron, AR to James E. & Mayme (Hawthorne) Solley. Winnie passed away on their 68th
wedding anniversary. She was an active
member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Hackett, AR. She loved to work in the nursery and teach
those babies about Jesus. She even had a
small daycare at her home for a select few. Oh, how she loved those babies. The youngest girl, Winnie was preceded in
death by her parents and 9 siblings (5 girls & 4 boys) .
Survivors
include her husband, Robert L Phillips; son, Donnie Phillips & wife Lisa of
Poteau; daughters, Jeri Spear of Ft. Smith, AR, Becky & Jim Lee of Rogers,
AR; grandsons, Ben Phillips & Kari of Dallas, TX, Dustin Phillips &
Jennifer of Poteau, OK, Noah Spear of Ft. Smith, AR; great grandchildren,
Sterling & Andi Phillips of Dallas, Callie, Kenzie, Hudson & baby girl
(due in May) Phillips of Poteau; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services
were 11 am, Friday, April 24, 2020 graveside at Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK
with Brian Williams officiating.

I’m so sorry about Mrs. Phillips passing. I knew her only briefly but she was so well loved, and loved well. God bless you all during this time.
I’m so sorry to learn about Mrs. Phillips passing. My deepest condolences to her kind children, husband and extended family. I’m deeply sorry for their loss.
