JoNell Sumpter Crandell

JoNell (Sumpter) Crandell, 62, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 in Poteau.  JoNell was born March 15, 1957 in Fanshawe, OK to Jay & Loeta (Wilson) Sumpter.  She worked as a waitress, truck driver and homemaker.   She was a devoted wife of 45 years, a loving sister & aunt.  She loved writing poetry and many of her poems published.  She loved taking care of her flowers.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jackie Sumpter-Lucas, Shirley Sumpter-Adams; brother, Bobby Sumpter; mother & father in law, Charles & Clara Crandell.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; brothers, Steve & Amy Sumpter of Poteau, OK, Art & Sharon Sumpter of Mulberry, AR, Rocky & Amy Sumpter of Poteau, OK, Don & Alta Crandell of Moore, OK; sisters, Judy & Johnny Newby of Van Buren, AR, Oradell & Robert Newby of Red Oak, OK, Betty Harris of Sallisaw, OK, Elanor  & James Rollison of Cameron, OK, Claudette Sumpter-Mann of Poteau, OK, Bonnie & Gene Ryburn of Wister, OK; nephew, Chris & Crystal Sumpter and many more.

Services will be 2 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, OK with Jim Cook officiating. 
.   Pallbearers will be Rocky, Steve, Brad, Art & Chris Sumpter, Gene Ryburn and James Rollison  There will be no visitation.
