Vera
Leveta Helton, 93, of Poteau, OK passed
away Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in Pocola, OK. Vera was born August 2, 1925 in
Mulberry, AR to Rufus & Zelma Angela (Ray) Huggins. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist
Church, Poteau. Vera was preceded in
death by her parents; husband, Luther (1990); son, Wayne; sisters, Reva
Shepard, Audrey Russell; brothers, Dub Huggins, Odell Huggins.
Survivors include her daughters, Kay
Romine of Van Buren, AR, Cookie Crawford of Caddo, OK; sons, Bill Helton of
Foyil, OK, James Helton of Panama, OK;
11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren;
sister, Betty Seaton
Of Pocola; brothers,
J.V. Huggins of Shady Point, OK, A.L. Huggins of Caddo, OK; other
relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 11 am, Monday, April
15, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church, Poteau with Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau, OK.
