Marilyn Francis Johnson, age 91 of
Monroe died Tues September 4 in a local nursing home. Marilyn was born June 29, 1927. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Marilyn enjoyed raising her 3 children, 5
children and 2 great grandchildren. She
always did her best and gave all of her efforts to make sure everyone was happy
and we felt her love. She was a
fantastic seamstress, making very special quilts and clothing for her
family. She was a master cook in the
kitchen. Christmas was her favorite time
of the year and her cooking shined. She
often traveled to Las Vegas every winter until a few years before she
passed. She was born in Poteau and
raised in Monroe. She lived in Lawndale,
California for over 50 years.
Survivors include daughters, Luenna
Sanders of Bon Aire, GA, Kelly Johnson of Las Vegas, NV and son Brian Sanders
of Louisville, CO. Grandchildren
include Jamie Sanders of Dayton OH, Kyle Wagner of Lawndale, CA, Nolan Wagner
of Atlanta GA, Ellie Sanders of Louisville, CO and Charlie Sanders of
Louisville, CO, also had 2 great grandsons, Samuel Sanders of Dayton OH and
Joshua Sanders of Dayton OH. Nieces and
nephews included are Lisa Pellegrini, Denise Cooper, Julie Fitzgerald, Keith
Gregory, Kent Gregory and Bruce James.
She is also survived by brother in law Ralph Gregory.
Preceded in death by her parents,
brothers Jackson James, Johnnie James,
and sister Helen Sarah James Gregory
The family will be at Evans and Miller
funeral home in Poteau Thursday September 13 6-8pm with relatives and
friends. The service will be at the
funeral home on Sep 14 at 10am. Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.
