Billy Dearl “Cotton” Ray, 71, of Wister, OK passed away Saturday,
September 8, 2018, in Wister. Cotton was
born July 18, 1947 in Wister to Callie Jefferson “C.J.” & Bertha LeFlore
(Burgess) Ray. He was a supervisor at
Whirlpool. Cotton was preceded in death
by his parents; 3 brothers & 1 sister.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of
the home; daughters, Sherri Schroder of
Oklahoma City, OK & Shannon Veerkamp of Wilburton, OK; sons, David Salsman
of Fayetteville, AR & Justin Vickers of Wister; brothers, Jerry & Cecil
Ray of Wister; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren plus one on the way;
dogs, “his babies”, Gus, Boo, Annie, Piper & Sparky; numerous nieces,
nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am, Tuesday,
September 11, 2018 at Ellis Chapel Church, Wister, OK with Rev. Marshall
Faulkenberry & Jim Cook officiating.
Interment will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Vickers, David
Salsman, Frankie Brown, Jackie Brown, Danny Wolf & Donald Welch. [photo soon]

Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear this. Bill was a good man and boss. I enjoyed working for him. I will be praying for you and your family.
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved. Death is truly an enemy and one day the creator promises to bring an end to it (1 Corinthians 15:26) Soon we can look forward to being reunited with our loved ones at the resurrection (Acts 24:15, John 5:28,29) May this hope and your memories sustain you during this difficult time.
