Clifford Gene Hamlin, 78,
of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Nashville, TN. Cliff was born June 9, 1938 in Oklahoma City,
OK to Clifford Charles & Geneva Murray (Pulley) Hamlin. He was a veteran of the US Army. Cliff was a member of the First Christian
Church in Poteau. He served on the board
of LeFlore County Youth Services, was a member of Lion's Club for 25 years, and
served as a Reserve Police Officer in Poteau.
He & his brothers owned & operated Hamlin's Mfg. Company in
Poteau, for many years. He was preceded
in death by his parents; son, Russell Gene Hamlin (12/9/1989); brothers, Charles
Arthur Hamlin & Philip Murray Hamlin.
Cliff was an honest,
faithful & caring man of strong convictions, who deeply loved his wife, family
& friends. He carried the weight & responsibilities of this life with
much grace! He always put the needs of others first and was quick to offer a
smile and some humor, to all those whom he encountered.
Survivors include his wife,
Martha Dean Plummer Hamlin; sons, Clifford Alpheus Pounders of LA, CA, Jonathan Eric Hamlin & daughter-in-law,
Christy DeLude Hamlin of Poteau, OK; daughter, Jennifer Angelic Hamlin Skinner
of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Ericka Miller Flores, Rebecca,
Joshua & Caleb Hamlin; brother, David Hamlin; sisters-in-law, Nancy Hamlin,
Mary Ann Hamlin, Aleen Hamlin; Doris Crouch , brother-in-law, Leon Plummer and
wife Peggy; niece, Dena Hamlin; other nieces, nephews, relatives, loved ones
and friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK . Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
