Shirley Joann Armstrong, 77
of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 in Poteau. Shirley was born August 2, 1939 in Deering,
MO to Albert Brooks & Zelma Roena (Pace) Townley. She was a Walmart Associate before she
retired; loved seeing all her friends
while she was there. Shirley loved Bluegrass
& country music and attending
concerts. She was preceded in death by
her parents; daughter, Debbie Louise Armstrong; siblings, Betty, Jerry, Martha,
Brenda, Albert Junior, & Alonzo Jackson Townley.
Survivors include her
husband of 59 years Jack of the home; children, Dianne Armstrong of Poteau, OK,
Donna Young of Fayetteville, AR, Jacky Ray Armstrong II & wife Terry of
Poteau; brother, Marlon Townley & sister, Linda Ryan of Teague, TX; 9
grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and
friends.
Services will be 10 am,
Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Evans
Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Revs. Jim Cook & LeRoy Billy officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau. Pallbearers will be her
grandsons.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
