Richard "KoonDog" Kunze Sr.



Richard Dale Kunze Sr. "KoonDog", 56, of Cameron, OK left this earth and took his final journey home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2016.  Richard was born March 18, 1960 in Fort Cobb, OK to Orville & Betty (Arlington) Kunze.  He was of  the Baptist faith, a dedicated husband, father & friend to all who knew him.  Richard worked 38 years in the oil field industry.  To know him was to love him.  Richard was preceded in death by his son, Richard Jr. "Freddy"; his parents; sister, Vickie Kunze and brother, David Kunze



Richard is survived by his wife, Evelyn of the home; sons, Christopher Kunze of California, Micheal Kunze of Heavener; daughters, Stephanie Kunze of Texas, Candace Strickland & husband Don of Poteau, OK; 5 grandchildren, Skyler, Logan, and Richard III Kunze, Hayden & Blayke Strickland; brothers, Harold of Apache, Curtis of Poteau, Rodney of Colorado; sisters, Sherry Lovelace of Carnegie, Marion Kunze of Panhandle, TX; numerous nieces & nephews, along with friends & family.



Services 2 pm - Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Don Bradford officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Sparks, Mark King, Frank Beckman, Matt Blake, Benton Elmore, Chad Fox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Mendoza, Don Strickland Jr., Jerry Fraiser, David White, David Chote, Buddy White, Ronnie Bradford, and his friends at RK Energy Services and Blake Trucking.



The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

We lost a good friend and racing family member. You will be missed by so many. The memories we have with you will last forever. No one can take those memories away. Rest in Peace Richard we will see you again on the Gold Race Tracks of Heaven.
