Velia Ann Thompson, 71, of
Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Pocola, OK. Velia was born February 10, 1944 in Cameron,
OK to Jimmy & Beulah (Goins) Shepherd.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Poteau. Velia was preceded in death by her parents
and her sister, Doris Creech.
Survivors include her
husband, Junior of the home; sons & daughters in law, Bruce & Rayeleen
Thompson, Bill & Sonya Thompson of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Kacie Dawn and
Trevor Joe; sister, Wanda McBee of Tulsa, OK; brothers & wives, Dewey &
Teresa Shepherd of Monroe, OK, Don & Marie Shepherd of Pocola, OK, Wendell
& Jaylene Shepherd of Howe, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and
nephews; other relatives loved ones and friends.
Services will be 10 am,
Monday, September 21, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church, Poteau with Rev. LeRoy
Billy & Rev. Phil McGehee officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers will be Jimmy King, Mark Archey,
Bob Thompson, Daron "Hoss" Harrison, Jim Daniel and Wendell Shepherd.
