Lester Thompson,
83, of Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Poteau. Lester was born in Poteau on April 9, 1929 to
Bud Andrew & Pernie (Garrett) Thompson.
He was a veteran of the US
Marine Corps. Lester was a car
salesman. He was married to his beloved
wife, Joyce for 57 years, 10 months & 17 days. Lester was preceded in death by his parents;
sister, Evelyn Miller, & Great Granddaughter, Sheila Fikes.
Survivors include
his wife of 57 years, Joyce of the home; 3 sons, Terry & wife Sandy
Thompson of Holson Valley, OK, Todd Thompson and Tobey Thompson of Poteau, OK;
2 granddaughters, Kristi & husband Michael Fikes of El Reno, OK, Amber of California; 1 grandson, Jordan Tyler
Thompson of Ft. Smith, AR; 2 great granddaughters, Kalyn & Emma Fikes; 1
great grandson, Falon; 2 brothers & sisters in law, Chester & Jaylene
Thompson of Broken Arrow, OK, Charley & Sandy Thompson of Alma, AR; 2
sisters & brothers in law, Billie & Ed Hunt of Broken Arrow, OK;
Geraldine & Wayne Drake of Hamilton, MT; numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 2
pm, Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Apostolic
Pentecostal Church,
Poteau, OK
with Rev. Kevin Womack & Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery,
Poteau, OK. Pallbearers will be Frankie Brown, Carl
Lockhart, Joe Brinson & L.H. Brinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie
Cox, Rick Crane & Rocky Crane.
