Johnny Hugh Akins, 68, of Bethany, OK (formerly of Wister) passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Bethany. Johnny was born in Poteau, OK on August 3, 1943 to Jess Hugh & Odena Lorene (Nix) Akins. He was a carpenter. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bobbie Doris Whitman Akins & son, Johnny Wayne Akins.
Survivors include his brothers, Jim Akins & Jess Akins of Wister, OK, Jerry Akins, Danny Shipman of Enterprise, OK; stepchildren, Don Streetman of Ft. Smith, AR, Floyd Streetman of Oklahoma City, OK, Mark Streetman of Ridge Creek, OK, Charles Perry of Antlers, OK, Rita Streetman of Ridge Creek, OK & Marquita Mitchel of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Nick Akins, McKayla Akins, & Brad Akins; numerous step grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends.
Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday – December 7, 2011 Graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK with Rev. Bob Mason officiating. Pallbearers will be Jess Akins, Jim Akins, Danny Shipman, Lee Akins, Chris Akins, Wayne Watts.
