Kay Woodruff


          Doris “Kay” Woodruff, 71, of Ft. Smith, AR passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 in Ft. Smith.  Kay was born September 3, 1948 in Poteau, OK to Luther & Ethel (West) Woodruff.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Wald and brother, James Woodruff.
          Survivors include her daughter Treisa Dugas; Son, Richard Wald; brother, Bill Woodruff & wife Mike; sister, Mary Woodruff; sister in law, Joyce Woodruff; grandchildren, Wesley Dugas, Crystal Cordoba & husband Marcos; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Services were 2 pm, Saturday, April 18, 2020,  graveside at Oakland Cemetery with Bryan Loughmiller officiating.

Melba Kay Barnes


Melba Kay Barnes, 83, of Monroe, OK passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR. Melba was born November 2, 1936 in Monroe, OK to Raymond & Annice (Gregory) Dedmon.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Barnes; daughter, Tammy Kunze and sister, Mildred Brand.

Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Diana & Donnie Waymire; grandchildren, Shana & Bryant Weaver, Alecia Bunn, Andrea Waymire, Joshua & Deldeana Waymire, Daniel Kunze; great grandchildren, Brandon, Briana & Kayla Franks, Waylen, Wesley & William Bunn, Aiden Sears, Britney James, Wyatt Waymire and Ava Kunze; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Graveside services were 2 pm, Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Monroe Cemetery, Monroe, OK with Don Laughlin officiating.

Lena Brake


       It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Brake announces her passing on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at the age of 92.  Lena was born January 22, 1928 in Germany.    Lena will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dolores Brake Wilburn and husband Lance of Jenks, OK; son, Brian Brake and wife Karen of Pocola, OK; her brother, Hansi Schnaus of Germany; daughter in law, Katie Brake of Greenwood, AR; 9 grandchildren, Frankie Schnitzlein of Ft. Smith; Christina Brake Morris and husband Justin of Ft. Smith; Melissa Shumacher of Greenwood; Chance and Preston Wilburn of Jenks, OK; Bridget Brake of Greenwood; Shanice McKee of Pocola; Dallas and Jackson Brake of Pocola; 11 great grandchildren, Countless nieces and nephews. 
          Lena retired from Tote-a-Poke and Cater High.  She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hans & Betty Schnaus; her brothers, Willie and Walter Schnaus of Germany; daughter, Sandra Brake; son, Billy Brake; husband, Charles Brake; son, Charlie Brake.

          Services will be held at a later date.

Pansey Martin


          Pansey Kay Martin, 67, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 in Pocola, OK.  Pansey was born December 4, 1952 in Spiro, OK to Andrew Lee & Kathleen (Goff) Hamby.  She was a beautician.  Pansey was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy Lee Martin & her husband, James Martin.
          Survivors include her brother & sister in law, Geary and Sue Hamby; sister, Mary Sue Perry; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
          Graveside services were Thursday, April 2, 2020 at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. 

Luther Lovell


           Luther B. Lovell, 77, of Bokoshe, OK passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020 in Bokoshe.  Luther was born January 16, 1943 in McCurtain, OK to Robert Lee & Rosie Bell (Fout) Lovell.  He was retired from Whirlpool.  Luther was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darrell Lovell Sr.; grandsons, Drew Lovell, Jacob Hall, Bentley Fields; brothers, Charles, Odell and Sam; sisters, Martha Fay Haslip, Wrenetta Kroth, Freda Purhman & Betty Tackett.
          Survivors include his wife, Carol Ann (Spears) Lovell; daughter & son in law, Rose & Wes Young of Pocola, OK; sons & daughters in law, James & Annie Lovell, Dennis & Melissa Lovell of Bokoshe; grandchildren, Jennifer Young Shamblin, Scott Young (Pocola), Jackie Lovell Ollie, Tyler Lovell, Clinton Lovell (Sallisaw), Darrell Lovell (Bokoshe), Kasey Lovell Smith (Spiro), Jessica Chapman, Jackson Lovell (Bokoshe), Nathosha Field (Spiro), Devin Fields (Poteau);  great grandkids, Cadyn, Makalynn, Mycah Russell & Kinslea Shamblin, Remington & Alyssa Young (Pocola), Kasen Ollie, Olivia & Carter Lovell, Kinly, Kenadee & Kyndall Lovell (Sallisaw), Katie Shamblin (Muldrow), Hannah & Dawson Shamblin, Ava & Everly Smith (Spiro), Aceon Cook, Kreidlyn Chapman(Bokoshe), Brayden & Meyah Fields, Haven Baker, Serenity Lovell (Spiro), Rachael Fields (Poteau); other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services were Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Bokoshe Cemetery Pavilion.     Pallbearers were Tyler Lovell, Clint Lovell, Scott Young, Jackson Lovell, Darrell Lovell, Cadyn Russell.
