Carolyn Sue Crossland



         Carolyn Sue Crossland, 71, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her home.  Carolyn was born January 2, 1949 in Heavener, OK to Homer & Veda (Mattox) Knight.  She was a welding instructor and a truck driver.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles, Vernard & wife Alice, & Homer Knight Jr.; sister, Kathleen Courville; and great great granddaughter, Summer Faith McKinney.

            Survivors include her husband, Larry Crossland; children, Michael & Yvonne Crossland of Poteau, OK, Lisa & Nathan Williams, Melody Peterson of Sand Springs, OK, Lisa & Bobby Whittaker, Larry & Marsha Crossland of Spiro, OK, Shari Spear of Poteau, Deborah Schaap of Arkoma, Mark & Laranda Crossland of Ft. Smith, AR, David & Tonya Crossland of Owasso, OK, Trish Gossett of Bokoshe, OK; sister, Sharon Walker  & Joe of Venus, TX; 22 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

           Services will be 10 am, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Covenant Church, Poteau, OK with Nicholas Hess and Clyde Hess officiating.  Burial will be at Howe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Nicholas & Joshua Bryant, Jesse Brasier, Shawn Knight, David Crossland and Randall Courville.

Bobby James Brannon


Bobby James Brannon, 80, of Arkoma, OK passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  Bobby was born March 21, 1939 in Pine Valley, OK to Ammon James & Jewel Dean (Hall) Brannon.   He graduated from Fanshawe High School in 1957.   He was an Elder in the Community Church of Christ in Trona, CA.  Bobby was a Quiet, Kind, Gentle, Loving, Christian, Country, Dedicated Family man.  He met the loved of his life, Mickey Rogers in Trona, CA and they married in July 1966.  They had their first child, Melissa in 1968 then moved back “home” to Fanshawe, OK where their second child Bryan was born in 1971.  Bobby loved the outdoors.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman; a gifted wildlife photographer and was a dedicated OU sports fan especially football.  He loved classic country music and Bible Hymns.  His favorite thing in the world was watching his daughter, son and granddaughters play sports and he never ever missed a game if he could help it!  He was their biggest fan and was so proud of them all!  His favorite pastime especially in later years was walking through the woods at the Fanshawe  homeplace where he grew up as a boy and going to the mountains enjoying the beautiful landscapes and scenery.      Bobby was a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from Whirlpool after 30 years as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Mickey Rogers Brannon in November 2016; sister, Helen Rana Barrett; brothers, Gene & Lonnie Brannon.

           Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Brannon-Bartels & husband Jon of Bentonville, AR; son, Bryan  Brannon & his wife Rebecca of Fanshawe, OK; granddaughters, Kassidy Brannon-Bartels , Masey Brannon & Kynli Brannon & their mother, Lori Heaton Wood;  brother, Neil Brannon and wife Gail of Arkoma, OK; nieces, Launa Brannon Benson, Kimberly Brannon Kramer, Joy Rana & Jeana Brannon Allen; sister in law, Dawna Brannon of Poteau, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

        Services will be 2 pm, Monday at Fanshawe Community of Christ, Fanshawe, OK with Sally McGowen officiating.  Interment will follow at Fanshawe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Bryan Brannon, Jon Bartels, David Benson, Shawn Womack, Paul Pulley & Wes McGowen.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry McAlester, John Samuels, Ron Glenn and Buck Cauthron.



The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Bill Goodrich


Ira William “Bill” Goodrich, 63, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Poteau.  Bill was born December 11, 1956 in Binghamton, NY to Ira “Ike” Mason & Lillian Mae (Baker) Goodrich.  He was a mechanic.  Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Craighill and father, Ike Goodrich; sister, Kathleen Goodrich; half brother, Michael Goodrich; stepfather, Martin O’Hara.



Survivors include his sons, Martin Goodrich & Katie Keosouvanh of Ft. Smith, AR, Jason & Miranda Goodrich, Matthew & Kayli Goodrich;  grandchildren, Sky & Zoe Goodrich, Colby Goodrich all of Poteau, OK; brothers, John Goodrich of Redmond, OR, Gordon Baker of Kalispell, MT, David O’Hara West Fir, OR, Stephen Goodrich of Florida;  his former wife and friend, Ramona Goodrich of Poteau; and friend, Larry Condon of Poteau; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



The family will be at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends in lieu of a memorial service.

         

Randy Vickers


Randall Lee Vickers, 64, of  Wister, OK passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Randy was born December 3, 1955 in Delano, CA to Arthur “Cotton” & June (Evans) Vickers.  He was worked at CASC as well as LeFlore County Assessor before retiring.  Randy was a diehard OU Fan who loved to fish, hunt and play golf.  He graduated from Wister High School in 1974, Carl Albert State College and Southeastern in Durant.  He was preceded in death by his parents.



Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Linda; brothers, Alan Vickers of Heavener, OK, Shannon Vickers of Tulsa, OK; nephew, Justin Vickers of Wister; niece, Candice Vaughn of Poteau, OK; great niece and nephews, Camryn Vickers, Lily Vaughn, Nick Vaughn & Zack Vaughn; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 2 pm, Friday, January 17, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Tracey Loyd officiating.  Interment will follow at Summerfield Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Justin Vickers, Billy Vaughn, Jeff Goad, Wayne Goad, Lynn Mattox & Mike Mattox.  Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Walden, Mitchell Goad, Mike Vickers, Kevin Vickers and Carna Woolbright.



The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives and friends.

Dean Garrison


Clinton Dean Garrison, 69, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Dean was born October 2, 1950 in Exeter, CA to Joe &  Clela Margret (Heiliman)  Garrison, who preceded him in death.



Survivors include his wife, Linda; son, Heith of Poteau, OK; sisters, Susan Fancher of Wichita Falls, TX, Kelli Jo Watts of Duncan, OK; grandson, Derrik Williams; great grandson, Jensen Williams; brother, Denton Garrison of Hodgen, OK; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Services will be 10 am, Friday, January 17, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau.  Pallbearers will be Gary Francis, Lance Neidecker, Steven Coffey, Walter Slavins, P.D. Spangler and Billy Frank Perkins.
