David Ray Wolfe


         David Ray Wolfe, 70, passed away January 13, 2020 in Ft Smith, Ark.
David was born September 23, 1949 in Talihina,  OK to Betty Wolfe Dixon. 
He is survived by his mother of the home; one brother, Wayne Wolfe and wife Belinda of Summerfield.  Four sisters, Sue Standerfer of Poteau,  Louise Coy and husband Fred of Summerfield,  Carla Dixon of Leflore,  Deanne O'Neal and husband Keith of Summerfield. One aunt Shirley Cusher of Mounds. Numerous nieces,  nephews and cousins.  
Upon his request of cremation,  a small family service will be Saturday,  January 18th at the Leflore Cemetery.

Grady Leon Garner


        Grady Leon Garner, 78, was born Aug. 30, 1941 in Louisville, KY. He moved to Wister, OK at the age of 3 months with his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Z.M. Garner. Graduating from Poteau in 1959, he attended Oklahoma University and Oklahoma State University, where he received his master's degree in electrical engineering.   After college Grady served two years active duty in the United States Army, where he became a first lieutenant and received a Bronze Star.  On discharge from the Army he worked for an engineering firm in Tulsa, OK for several years before moving his family to Poteau in 1974 to join his dad's business Garner Electric Co Inc.
          Grady married Sharon Gregory on Dec. 21, 2006, and they moved to Hot Springs Village Feb. 16, 2018. Grady passed away on his 13th wedding anniversary, Dec. 21, 2019. He was an avid hunter and fisherman relishing the deer camp set up by the Garner clan for 55 years at Panther Creek, and his 30 years hunting elk in Colorado.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Zelman and Dartha Garner.
         Grady was survived by his wife, Sharon Garner of Hot Springs Village; 3 sons Rhett, Jarot, and Seth Garner; along with several grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and John Manaulan; and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Anita Garner.
Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of LOVE.
               A Memorial Service to celebrate and honor his life will be held in the spring by Evans and Miller Funeral Home in Poteau, OK.

Lucille Scroggins


Lucille Melba Scroggins, 94, of Heavener, OK passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 at her home.  Lucille was born June 25, 1925 in Fanshawe, OK to Bart & Esther (Shipman) Cash.   Lucille was a beloved mother, grandmother & role model.  She loved her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Scroggins; sister, Dortha Wilemon; sons, Larry & Les.

Survivors include her children, Louise Lowrance, Henry Jr. & Mary Scroggins of Poteau, OK, Darlene Scroggins of Monroe, OK; Joyce & Roy Jackson of Heavener, OK, Janice & Richard Munoz of Howe, OK;  19 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Aaron Scroggins officiating.  Interment will follow at Fanshawe Cemetery, Fanshawe, OK.   Pallbearers will be Jason Lowrance, Nathan Jackson, Josh Munoz, Andrew Munoz, Joel Jackson, Allen Scroggins.
 The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Janice Bandy


Janice May Bandy, 73, of Pocola, OK passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Pocola, OK.  Janice was born May 14, 1946 in Coal Hill, AR to Virgil & Connie (Bramlett) Martin.  She was a florist.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Bandy and brother, William Heath.

Survivors include her son, Jason Bandy; grandson, Dakota Bandy and great grandson, Eli Bandy all of Pocola, OK; sisters, Pat Broomfield of Ft. Smith, AR, Sharon Lucy of Coal Hill, AR; brother, Joe Bob Martin of Arizona; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be 10 am, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola with Jim Cook officiating.  Interment will follow at Monroe Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David Scott, Jimmy Borum, James Bernard and David Smith.

The family will be at the funeral home in Pocola on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Rickey Rainwater


Rickey Dale Rainwater, 69, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Rickey was born May 19, 1950 in Wilburton, OK to Forrest & Ruby (Dugan) Rainwater.   He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Childers; son in law, David Spurlock; and sister in law, Pat Harris.



Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy; son, Duane & Dena Rainwater; daughters, Sonya & Scott Rogers of Poteau, Leann & Jamie Hobbs of Howe, OK, Jennifer Spurlock of Poteau; grandchildren, Josh Carter, Jordan Alden, Staci & Jake Fargo, Taia Hobbs, Alley Spurlock, Jessie Spurlock; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Artheia & Gary Hageman of Topeka, KS, Tosca & Cliff Harris of Chanute, KS; other relatives, loved ones and friends.



Memorial Services will be 1 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at The Jesus Church {House of Hope}, Poteau, OK with Jimmy Autry officiating.  Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Carter, Jordan Alden, Jamie Hobbs, Nick Lloyd, Tim Reed, Jake Fargo, Austin Lloyd, Ryan Lloyd and Scott Rogers.
