Billy Ray Mode Sr., 90, of
Poteau, OK passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his home. Bill was born March 17, 1929 in Proctor, OK
to Dewitt Frank & Hattie Belle (Taylor) Mode. He loved to hunt, crappie fish &
read. He read thousands of books during
his lifetime. Bill was a carpenter/mill
wright/ cabinet maker. He was a veteran
of the US Air Force. He was preceded in
death by his parents; sisters, Genevia Taylor & Mildred Ramirez; brothers,
Cleo & Floyd Mode.
Survivors include his wife,
Nona Lou; daughters & husbands, Darlene & Kenneth Thompson, Barbara
& Jeff Brown; sons & wives, Billy Ray Jr. & Christy Mode, Joe &
Teresa Mode, Paul & Linda Mode, Frank & Carol Mode; sister, Imogene
Cartwright; brother Marce Mode; 14 grandchildren,Jeffery and Meygan Mode, Jennifer (Mode) Clark, Courtney (Mode) and
Jamie Altstatt, Jessica (Mode) and Dustin Hall, Jamie (Mode) and Brad
Grammer, Kaycee (Mode) and Jay Matthews, Zack and Karen Mode, Josh Mode,
Colton and Samantha Thompson, Zeb and Hope Brown, Stephanie Brown,
Taylor Frizzell, Nikki Mode; 22 great grandchildren; other relatives, loved
ones and friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Howe, OK with
Rev. Larry Stacy & Rev. Jerrod Graham officiating. Interment will follow in Monroe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy More Jr., Joe Mode, Paul Mode, Frank Mode, Kenneth
Thompson, Jeff Brown, Jeffery Mode, Zeb Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Zac Mode, Josh Mode, Colton Thompson, Jay
Matthews, Brad Grammer, Jamie Altstatt and Dustin Hall.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm to
visit with relatives & friends.
