Paul H. Stottsberry

Paul Herbert Stottsberry, 85, of Poteau, OK passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in Poteau.  Paul was born June 18, 1932 in Bentonville, AR to Homer & Rebecca (Sargent) Stottsberry.  They moved to Poteau, OK when he was six years old.  He attended school there and graduated from Poteau High School.  From there he attended and graduated from Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, OK where he attained his business degree.  He also met the love of his life, Sue Leathers, while in Tahlequah; and they were married January 22, 1955.
Paul spent some time in the army and after his return had  a daughter, Jo and a son, Pete.  They made their home in Poteau.  Paul was a long time banker with his father Homer.  He also was a real estate broker for many years.  Paul loved Poteau  and the people who lived there.  He was active in many organizations, some of which were boy scout leader, Kiwanis member, PVIA water board member, and First United Methodist Church finance board member.
Paul was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He LOVED the outdoors.  Our family benefited from this, as we had a cabin and spent many happy days there enjoying the beautiful Black Fork River.  The one thing he might have enjoyed more, besides Sue's cooking, and also shared with his family, were season tickets to the OU football games for many years.  What a Sooner Fan!   Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and recently Great-Grandfather, and will be greatly missed.  BOOMER SOONER DAD!  Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Sue C. Stottsberry and sister Patsy Mings.
