Lonnie Gene Wooten, 72, of
Wister, OK passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 in Ft. Smith, AR. Lonnie was born October 27, 1944 in Howe, OK
to James Harvey "J.H." & Ruby Lee (Thompson) Wooten. He
worked on the Tie Gang for the Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad. Lonnie was a veteran of the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3
sisters, Ramona Vaughn, Clydean & Ruby Mae; 4 brothers, Clem, James, Ronnie
& Clifford Wooten.
Survivors include his
daughters, Joyce Wooten of Poteau and Crystal Wooten of Wister, OK; grandchildren,
Shelby Culver, Logan Midgley, Taylor Hamner, Jayden Wooten & Lawson Akers;
2 sisters, Doris Duvall of Wister, OK, Linda Brannon of Fanshawe, OK; 3
brothers, Gary, Robert & Donnie Wooten of Wister, OK; other relatives,
loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2 pm,
Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Ellis Chapel Church in Wister, OK with interment
following in Ellis Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane & Ronnie Wooten, Lee Akins, Rickey Vaughn,
Waylon Hartness and Jon Duvall. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Midgley, Jayden Wooten, Lawson Akers, Robert Wooten, Rick Wooten, Toby Culver.
The family will be at the
funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives &
friends.
